What We Recover
Recovering Assets Across Multiple Sources
Mortgage Foreclosure Surplus Funds
When a property is sold through a mortgage foreclosure, the sale proceeds may exceed certain debts, costs, liens, or other amounts associated with the proceeding.
Tax Sale & Tax Deed Surplus Funds
When property is sold because of delinquent property taxes, the final sale price may exceed the taxes, costs, and other amounts required to be satisfied.
State Unclaimed Property
When a financial institution, insurance company, business, or other organization is unable to successfully contact the rightful owner for a period of time, state law may require the organization to report and transfer the unclaimed property to the appropriate state agency for safekeeping. The funds generally remain available for the rightful owner or eligible heirs to claim.
Bankruptcy Unclaimed Funds
In certain bankruptcy cases, money distributed by a bankruptcy trustee may remain unclaimed because a creditor or other intended recipient could not be located, a payment was not negotiated, or another issue prevented distribution.
Heir & Estate Claims
A potential claimant may no longer be living when funds are identified.
Confidential Review
There May Be More to the Record.
If you believe funds may be connected to you, your family, a former property, an estate, a bankruptcy matter, or another financial matter, the first step is understanding what the records actually show.
